Every Religious of the Sacred Heart preparing for final profession is asked to serve for several months in country outside her own, preferably with a different language. Most often for RSCJ coming from the United States or Canada, that service is in a developing country, where our service is most needed. In addition, from the days of St. Madeleine Sophie, every Religious of the Sacred Heart has enjoyed a period of preparation for final profession – termed probation – during which she joins an international group to pray, share and reflect. The five-month period of probation is intense and bonding. RSCJ tend to stay in touch with those from their probation group.
“Our union brings far off countries close, and we are never separated.” ~ St. Madeleine Sophie Barat
