On Saturday, September 15, Sacred Heart schools, RSCJ, Associates, alumnae/i, parents and friends of the Sacred Heart participated in service projects around the world in honor of the 200th anniversary of the day Saint Philippine Duchesne opened the first Sacred Heart school in North America.
The day, formally named Global Service Day, spanned 24 hours and was effectively “a wave of grace throughout the day, across the globe,” said Sister Maureen Glavin, coordinator of the Global Service Day.

Many groups partnered with local organizations that focus on issues ranging from environmental justice to food justice to serving people who are elderly, economically disadvantaged, victims of disasters, homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
