On Sunday evening, January 29, 270 people gathered at Kemoll’s Restaurant in St. Louis to raise funds to support the work of the Friends of Old St. Ferdinand, the nonprofit organization that has maintained the Old St. Ferdinand Shrine in Florissant, Missouri for more than 40 years. His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, former archbishop of St. Louis, was the keynote speaker at the dinner.

Nine Religious of the Sacred Heart, including Jane O'Shaughnessy of the U.S. Province, professed their final vows this month in Rome.

Abigail Borah, a 2009 graduate of Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, Princeton, New Jersey, interrupted the UN Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa last week with an impassioned call for the United States to agree to the climate change treaty.

St. Rose Philippine Duchesne was in the thoughts of many as the  city of Florissant, Missouri celebrated its 225th anniversary at the Old St. Ferdinand Shrine on Friday, November 18.

 The life and accomplishments of a remarkable woman are recounted in a new biography, Kathryn Sullivan, RSCJ (1905-2006): Teacher of the Word, by Carolyn Osiek, RSCJ, archivist for the U.S. Province.

Founded in 1821, the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau was the second Sacred Heart School in the United States. This year, they celebrate their 190th anniversary. There's a great story about one of their anniversary activities here.
