Kathryn Sullivan, RSCJ made it her life’s work to make the Bible more accessible to the average reader. She was a leader in the male-dominated field of Biblical scholarship and a model of the Sacred Heart vocation. The Society of the Sacred Heart in the United States is welcoming two members of the Society’s General Council for a regular visit, March 3 - April 7, 2011. The visitors are Catherine Lloyd, RSCJ, of England, and Hiroko Okui, RSCJ, of Japan. Their trip began in St. Louis, headquarters to the United States Province, and will end in Miami, with stops in 10 cities over five weeks. This is the current General Council’s first official visit to the United States.

At the General Chapter of 2008, one of the five priorities for the next eight years, communally discerned by the Religious of the Sacred Heart, was a Priority for Young People. Specifically, the RSCJ made decisions to reach out to young people and provide opportunities and accompaniment where their longing for spirituality and RSCJ spirituality converge.
On January 31, 2010, two RSCJ from the U.S. Province, Diana Wall and Kathleen McGrath, made their final vows at Villa Lante in Rome. They were among fourteen RSCJ from around the world who made final profession.
