Following a months-long consultation with Religious of the Sacred Heart across the United States, Barbara Dawson, RSCJ, who will take office as Provincial of the U.S. Province on August 1, 2012, has named her provincial leadership team. Sisters Sheila Hammond, Diana Wall and Meg Causey have agreed to serve for a three-year term. Sister Melanie Guste will serve as the director of planning.
Sheila Hammond, RSCJ, is currently the director of pastoral care at Saint Louis University Hospital. Previously she served as director of chaplaincy services at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, director of formation for the U.S. Province and a member of the provincial team under the leadership of Sister Kathleen Hughes. Sister Hammond is a clinical pastoral education (CPE) supervisor. Her graduate degree is in theology.
Diana Wall, RSCJ, is currently director of institutional advancement at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Seattle. Sister Wall also served in development at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans and in eldercare administration for the province in Albany. She worked for a number of years in business management prior to entering the Society. Sister Wall has a degree in nursing as well as an MBA.
Meg Causey, RSCJ, is on the current provincial team with Provincial Paula Toner, RSCJ. Prior to this service, she worked in administration and curriculum at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She founded the Duchesne Center at Manhattanville College and has taught ethics and theology. Sister Causey has extensive experience with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools and was head of Oak Hill School in St. Louis for several years prior to entering the Society. Sister Causey has a Ph.D. in theology.
Melanie Guste, RSCJ, also serves on the current provincial team. Sister Guste has extensive experience in planning, both within the province and with various organizations, primarily in her home state of Louisiana. She is the current provincial team’s liaison with the Sacred Heart Commission on Goals, which sets guidelines and accreditation for the Network of Sacred Heart Schools. Sister Guste has a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems and Master’s degrees in Educational Administration/Supervision and Applied Spirituality.
In announcing her new team, Sister Dawson expressed her appreciation for their willingness to serve in leadership.
