"I
was so excited to see the revamping of the JusticeNet web page! What a
treasure! Along with being easy on the eye, it's simple to use and
loaded with information by way of links to justice and peace sites on
the internet. Very importantly, with each justice issue posted comes
the possibility to engage with others in an ongoing exchange. This is
the best of the internet--connecting with those around the globe on
issues important to all of us! Let's go!"
-Joan Hopkins rscj (Chair, Justice and Peace Committee)
JusticeNet ,
an RSCJ-sponsored website, has been completely redesigned and upgraded
and is now open to the public. JusticeNet is a site which seeks to
"create an active electronic community of justice and peace, a
community of conscience–partners who engage, study, reflect, change and
act at all levels on what causes injustice."
A new feature
which was added is an extensive discussion area where people from
across the globe can meet to share ideas and information. After
completing a quick sign-up process, users can join or start discussions
on an array of issues and community-oriented topics. The public is
warmly invited to use this resource and to share it with any
justice-partners (whether they are individuals or organizations).
The new site was created at the Center for Educational Design and Communication (CEDC), itself a project of the Society. CEDC's own organizational website
was also recently improved, with photos of the conference facilities
and samples of their graphic design work added into a completely new
site design.
Featured
in the portfolio section of the new CEDC site is a case-study of our
site. Statistics indicate strong activity on rscj.org, with monthly
hits between 400,000 and 525,000 for the last 7 months and visitors
from approximately 70 countries.
