Sr. Bartunek Wins Top Award at Boston College |

Sr. Jean M. Bartunek RSCJ, professor at the Carroll School of
Management at Boston College, has been awarded the Boston College
Distinguished Research Award for 2002. The award, which consists of a
$4,000 cash prize and a grant of $2000 for support of teaching and
research, is given annually to recognize outstanding scholarly
accomplishments of full-time faculty.
Sr. Bartunek, whose primary area of research is organizational change,
has received numerous grants and honors and is listed in the
International Who’s Who of Business and Professional Women, 2001. She
is the outgoing president of the Academy of Management, a leading
professional association of scholars who specialize in organizations
and management. The academy has nearly 12,000 members representing 75
countries.
Sr. Bartunek is the author of dozens of articles on organizational
behavior and author or co-author of five books, including the
soon-to-be-published Organizational and Educational Change: the Life
and Role of a Change Agent Group by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates.

She has taught at Boston College since 1977. She holds a bachelor’s
degree from Maryville University and masters and doctoral degrees from
the University of Illinois at Chicago.
