Sister Roche writes on Haiti for NCR |

An article by Sister Diane Roche
on Haiti, “getting back to normal,” appears in the June 4 issue of
National Catholic Reporter. “Last week, our community of Sacred Heart
sisters traveled from Verrettes to Port au Prince for a meeting, and I
found myself thinking, “Thank God, things are getting back to normal,”
she wrote. “At the same time, I am new enough to Haiti to find ‘normal’
somewhat shocking.”
In January, at the height of the
recent political turmoil in Haiti, Sister Roche moved from St. Louis,
Missouri, to Haiti to join three other RSCJ working in an educational
project sponsored by the Society of the Sacred Heart.
