Religious of the Sacred Heart participated in an effort by members of
Catholic religious orders in Uganda to persuade that country’s
government to act swiftly to end an 18-year war against rebels in the
north and alleviate the suffering of some 1.6 million people who have
been uprooted from their homes in the conflict. On July 29, the Ugandan
Parliament received a delegation of religious who presented a message
on behalf of the suffering people. For an account of the event and a
