RSCJ, Sacred Heart alumnae/i, co-workers and friends are invited to join Sister Anita von Wellsheim on a September 5-12 trip to Haiti sponsored by Fonkoze, Haiti’s alternative bank for the organized poor. Registration is due June 20.

The group will go to Port-au-Prince and to Haiti’s Central Plateau, visiting Fonkoze offices, including a new one provided by Dr. Paul Farmer of Partners for Progress. (Dr. Farmer is the subject of a recent book by best-selling author Tracy Kidder, Mountains Beyond Mountains.)

A stopover at an educational project sponsored by the Society of the Sacred Heart in the Verrettes is a possibility, Sister Von Wellsheim said.

The $1600 trip fee includes $500 for airfare and covers all other expenses while in Haiti, Sister von Wellsheim said.
