Sister Kathleen Conan, provincial of the U.S. Province reports that
RSCJ living in areas affected by hurricane Katrina are safe. Most of
the sisters left New Orleans as the hurricane approached and are
staying with RSCJ communities in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. Sister
Lorraine Landry remained with her family in New Orleans.
"As far as we know, our sisters' families are fine as well," Sister Conan said.
"We
are deeply grateful for the safety of our sisters and their families
and for all the hospitality they have received. Let us hold in our
prayer all those who have suffered destruction and trauma."
She
added, "I have received numbers of e-mails from the Society around the
world, from Clare Pratt and communities as close as Canada and as far
as the Philippines, expressing their concern and assuring us of their
prayer."
