Director of Public Relations and Communications
Susan M. Switzer
The provincial team is very pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Mahe Switzer as Director of Public Relations and Communications for the U.S. Province of the Society of the Sacred Heart.
Susan is an experienced communicator with a background in public relations, marketing, and development in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. She is a writer, film maker and educator.
A Villa Duchesne graduate, Susan has a B.A. in English Literature from Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY and an M.A. in Space Systems Management from Webster University, Colorado Springs, CO. She is the author of Internal Audit Reports Post Sarbanes-Oxley (John Wiley & Sons) and a former Director of Communications for KPMG St. Louis, where she served on the Executive Education faculty and wrote and produced a CBS radio series called "Taking Account."
Susan has conducted specialized courses in effective communication for clients such as Audits & Surveys Worldwide, Strategic Marketing Corp., AT&T, General Electric Capital Corporation, MASCO and Schlumberger.
She also served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and as Press Director for the Santa Fe Opera. She produced two videos for the San Diego Cable Commission: Changing the Face of Aging and A Walk in the Park and produced a video with Neil Armstrong to announce the Report of the President's Commission on Moon, Mars and Beyond. She was appointed to the first Governor's Council on Film and Media Industries in New Mexico.
A resident of Albuquerque, NM, Susan plans to work in St. Louis at the provincial offices part of the time, travel on assignment to other cities, and telecommute. She will begin in her new role in September and is looking forward to the opportunity to meet the members of the province and the associates, friends, benefactors and collaborators who make up the Sacred Heart family today.
