Sr. Helen Rosenthal, rscj of Miami has developed a four-course program
in the history of Christian spirituality, to begin Sept. 16, 2002. The
Institute for Pastoral Ministries, Spirituality Center, at St. Thomas
University in Miami will grant certificates to students who complete
the program.
Courses leading toward the certificate are “New Testament Spirituality
and Early Church Fathers/Mothers;” “Monks, Mendicants, Mystics of the
Middle Ages”; “More Mystics and Modern Spirituality,” and “Contemporary
Spirituality.” Fee is $300 per course.
Interested persons may register by sending a check for the first course
by June 20 to Sr. Rosenthal, Center for Holistic Spirituality, St.
Thomas University, 16400 NW 32ned Ave., Miami, Fla, 33054.
Sr. Rosenthal, recently retired from fulltime teaching, served as a
fulltime faculty member at St. Thomas University from 1989 to 2001. She
spent 20 years in Chile as a teacher and school administrator before
returning to the United States to attend St. Louis University. She
earned a doctoral degree in historical theology there in 1985. Her
