CEDC Staff Transitions PDF Print E-mail
As many of you know, Chris Knight and his wife are returning to California in January, beginning a new and wonderful era in their life together. Chris' departure is a real loss for us here at Center for Educational Design and Communication (CEDC) and for the Province as well. He has been an outstanding staff team member not only for his competencies in communication and web/email technologies, but very importantly for his generous spirit and God-rooted passion for putting those same gifts and skills at the service of transformation - toward making the world a more equitable and loving place. We will surely miss him, but plan to stay very much in touch with him and Malia for a long time to come.

At the same time we are richly blessed by having another very gifted and committed person coming on staff to replace Chris - Laryn Bakker. Laryn (rhymes with Aaron) is currently getting oriented and preparing for a very smooth transition with Chris and Beth. He is, by training and experience, a graphic designer and computer technology expert, coming most recently from CBC Manitoba. He was drawn to the CEDC position by his own commitment to the marginalized and his faith-based search for "a meaningful, challenging and creative position in an organization working toward positive social change." His official start date will be January 6. You will all come to know him as he joins Beth Ponticello on the design team and takes over Chris' responsibilities.
