Joan Magnetti, RSCJ, headmistress of Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, Connecticut, will receive the prestigious Woman of Conscience Award from the Associated Alumnae and Alumni of the Sacred Heart, an organization representing more than 51,000 women and men educated in Sacred Heart schools in the United States.

On February 7, Clare Pratt, RSCJ, the first American to serve as
superior-general of the international Society of the Sacred Heart, will
begin a six-week-long official visit to Religious of the Sacred Heart
in the U.S. Province. She will be accompanied by Jane Maltby, RSCJ.

Anyone entering Mother Hardey’s room at Manhattanville in 1857 could
have seen a child of four with Asian features and a western name
playing in a corner. This was Susie Maclane, born in Macao on June 21,
1852, of an American father and a Chinese mother.

A newly-created bronze bust of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne was given a grand send-off on November 17 – an unveiling at the school Philippine founded in 1818, and a Mass celebrated by Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis.

Sacred Heart have gathered with Sister Clare Pratt, Superior General
and the members of her Council at the Comboni Retreat House in

The Global Academy for the
Neo-Renaissance of the Kyung Hee University hosted a conference titled
"Reinventing Universality for the 21st Century: Beyond Freedom and
Equality." Invited by the Rector of the Global
Academy, I went to Seoul, Republic of Korea, for October 26- 28. On
the 26th I gave the Keynote Address for the Youth Forum to 500
students.
