Philippine Celebrated at Fundraiser for Old St. Ferdinand's Shrine

On Sunday evening, January 29, 270 people gathered at Kemoll’s Restaurant in St. Louis to raise funds to support the work of the Friends of Old St. Ferdinand, the nonprofit organization that has maintained the Old St. Ferdinand Shrine in Florissant, Missouri for more than 40 years. His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, former archbishop of St. Louis, was the keynote speaker at the dinner.

Artist Carlota Duarte, RSCJ founded the Chiapas Photography Project (CPP) in 1992 to give indigenous Mayan people opportunities for cultural and artistic self-expression through photography. Some of those images are now on display at the Walters Cultural Art Center in Hillsboro, Oregon.
