The Society of the Sacred Heart is an international community which reaches far beyond the limits of its own membership. It is a community of faith by the common search to understand what God asks of us in our time and to live and to serve honestly in that spirit.

Beyond Borders

A first report was received February 27 from Kim King, RSCJ, a member of the US Province, who is serving in the northern sector of Valparaiso, in Viña del Mar, Chile’s fourth largest city. Five other Religious of the Sacred Heart are in community there, working in a Sacred Heart school and youth ministry. Sister King described the earthquake experience as "wild" and said physical damage was minimal there - but that prayers are needed for all those missing…

Storyline

This past summer the Society of the Sacred Heart held its General Chapter in Lima, Peru. From July 16th through August 20th, 86 Delegates from 32 Provinces, Districts and Areas around the world gathered to participate in the General Chapter. The central theme of this Chapter was RSCJ Spirituality: Dialogue around the  (Fire, Candle, Well, Meal…). Below you will find the archives of a special series that we ran each week during the Chapter.
