People of faith have been called to join the Holy Father in a prayer for mutual understanding, harmony and peace among the world's peoples, made in the context of an international scene that "continues to exhibit worrisome tensions." In particular this prayer will visualize a stable peace based on justice and will be empower by the communal act of fasting.

May our prayer include the intention that we in some way become the solution to our yearning for world peace, expressed by our willingness to withhold satisfying our hunger for food in solidarity with those who suffer and hunger.
