A new consciousness of the dignity of all people |

The Peace and Justice Committee remind you to continue the Friday
prayer and fasting in union with those who pray and fast in the
religion of Islam for peace in our torn world.
The
words of Concepcion Camacho may help us to remain focused today: I
suggest that you take time today before Our Lord to ask him to give us
a new consciousness of the dignity of all people, of their vocation to
be children of God and brothers and sisters in the only Son, the Lord
Jesus. When we have a better understanding of the grandeur of human
dignity and the breadth of our call, we will appreciate all people
more; we will believe in their potential, and we will create space for
them to discover it for themselves and to set it free for the benefit
of others; space to know the joy of believing in the Father's love and
the joy He Himself feels in all His children, even the prodigal son...
I would like to suggest some questions:
-
Do I humbly recognize each day, the loving face of Christ in those I meet?
- Do I believe in others and discover their potential - not always visible at first glance?
- Do I encourage them to be more aware of their responsibility, and to use their talents to serve others?
"St.
Madeleine Sophie received the gift of responding to the needs of her
time, and if today we live that union and conformity as consistently as
she did, our response will receive fresh vigor."
