 Thanks to the continued support of Sacred Heart students and family completion of the newest Sacred Heart primary school moves forward. Click below to download an update on student life there (PDF).
"While academics are a serious endeavor at the school we also provide the children with multiple opportunities to develop themselves in holistic ways.
Computer lessons are given to Grades Four through Seven using computers donated by our Sacred Heart schools in Seattle and Atherton. Last summer, Sacred Heart Educators from Houston, St. Charles, and Villa Duchesne installed excellent educational programs for the students to use.
Grades Three through Six are enjoying sewing lessons. The girls are very proud of their work and delight in showing it off to parents and friends.
Arts and crafts activity is often carried out under the banana trees on our hillside where the children are able to spread out and enjoy the fresh air. Making dolls out of banana leaf strips is a favorite activity.
There are special organizations that some girls decide to join such as the Sacred Heart Movement, Legion of Mary, & Girl Guides – similar to Girl Scouts. These students have special responsibilities in the school such as raising the flag each day, giving good example, service, prayer, and guiding visitors..."
