Sacred Heart International Summer Service Project PDF Print E-mail

Looking for young adults interested in volunteering in San Luis Potosi, Mexico

The Society of the Sacred Heart is a group of nearly 3500 women religious serving in over 500 communities in 45 countries.  Our mission is to discover, live and announce God’s love through the service of education, in diverse works, particularly addressing the needs of children, young people, women and those in society who are marginalized.

The Society of the Sacred Heart has been connecting people internationally for over 200 years and now through the Sacred Heart International Service Project we seek to bring together an international group of young people who are committed to social change through action.  In this, its first year, we will draw participants from Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States to engage in service, reflection and cultural exchange through work with children and young people in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  The service experience will be further strengthened by reflection and information sessions covering a wide range of topics.  Participants will live with host families known by local Religious of the Sacred Heart (RSCJs).

Interested people should submit one copy of each of the following to Imma De Stefanis, RSCJ: Application form, emergency form; and the names of two references. All materials are contained here.
