This week marks National Vocation Awareness Week, an annual celebration in the Catholic Church in the United States. Its aim is to promote vocations to religious life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these vocations. Kathleen Hughes, RSCJ wrote the following prayer for vocations. We invite you to unite your voice to ours, especially this week. 

Kathryn Sullivan, RSCJ made it her life’s work to make the Bible more accessible to the average reader. She was a leader in the male-dominated field of Biblical scholarship and a model of the Sacred Heart vocation. Her life and accomplishments are recounted in a new biography, Kathryn Sullivan, RSCJ (1905-2006): Teacher of the Word, written by Carolyn Osiek, RSCJ, archivist  for the U.S. Province.
