Supporting the Mission PDF Print E-mail

The Religious of the Sacred Heart are committed to discover, live and announce God’s love through the service of education for transformation, in diverse ministries, particularly addressing the needs of children, young people, women and those in society who are marginalized. (From our mission statement)

Join us in making God’s love visible
in the heart of the world

Rooted in the vision of Saints Madeleine Sophie Barat and Philippine Duchesne, the Religious of the Sacred Heart serve as teachers and administrators in Catholic schools and colleges around the world. We work in inner cities and rural areas in service to people who are poor, who are elderly, who are ill, educationally underserved, economically deprived or developmentally disabled. Out of the best of our Sacred Heart tradition, we strive to develop leaders and to foster self-respect in those we serve so they might take charge of their own lives and bring about good in the world.

Our work flows from prayer and contemplation and from discernment of the ways the gospel challenges us today.

We invite your help in this mission. We deeply appreciate gifts of time or money that help our ministries to flourish and grow.

Nourishing the Spirit

Photo by Kevin TuckWe invite all to enter more deeply into the calls of Chapter 2008 during Advent.  In support of this invitation, an Advent Reflection will be posted on the RSCJ website for each week of Advent.  These reflections will be prepared by members of the province who have been asked to offer their own insights into Advent and the calls of the Chapter 2008.
