Sharing the Mission
The following is a list of groups, institutions, or services established as an outgrowth of our shared mission. Each organization has active involvement by RSCJ.

The adult Children of Mary Sodality

The adult Children of Mary Sodality, founded in the 1830s, was seen by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat as an important outgrowth of the mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Its growth followed closely the establishment of Academies and Colleges of the Sacred Heart, enabling alumnae and friends to continue their religious formation as adults. Today there are Sodality groups in several cities in the United States which meet monthly, as well as for an annual retreat or days of recollection. These foster the spiritual and apostolic lives of the members and those who join them. "That which is life-giving attracts."

The Barnyard Community Center
The Barnyard Community Center is a partner in collaborative efforts with other agencies to provide comprehensive services to at-risk children and their families in the West Grove. These linkages facilitate quick and accurate referrals, promote collaborative programming, build interagency trust and cooperation, and increase the efficiency with which scarce resources are distributed.

Center for Educational Design and Communication
cedc_thThe Center for Educational Design and Communication (CEDC) serves the Society of the Sacred Heart and other faith-based groups committed to social justice. The Center joins its project partnerships bringing a wide range of affordable educational and communication services to bear on important social change efforts.

Josephinum High School
josephinumThe Sisters of Christian Charity contribute both their living tradition of over 100 years at Josephinum and the use of the school buildings and grounds under a recently completed lease. The Religious of the Sacred Heart provide educational direction for the Josephinum which includes among its board members representatives of both the Sisters of Christian Charity and the Religious of the Sacred Heart as well as other religious and lay members.

The Network of Sacred Heart Schools
sofieMembership in the Network provides each school with opportunities for collaboration. The Network and its members seek to share their work and to collaborate whenever possible with other educational organizations as well as with other works within the Society of the Sacred Heart.

The Spiritual Ministry Center
spiritminThe Spiritual Ministry Center was founded by the Religious of the Sacred Heart in 1987. Our charism is to discover and make known the love of the Heart of Jesus today and to participate in the rebuilding of a more just and peaceful world. We welcome people of diverse faiths and cultures who seek to deepen their relationship with God and others. Our programs facilitate personal integration in the light of Gospel values and the insights of contemporary psychology and theology.
