Applications may also be found on the RSCJ Web Site. The maximum grant is $6,000, and completed applications are normally due in March.

This Fund has been established by the Province to support ministries and projects in which RSCJ work or with which they are connected and which meet the criteria and guidelines listed below. Update is the primary means by which we communicate the availability of these funds. This year the guidelines, criteria and application form will also be on the RSCJ only Web site.

Criteria:
The project or program:

    A. Promotes self-determination for economically poor persons, especially women and children;

    B. Aims directly at changing public policy, social attitudes, economic structures and institutions that perpetuate poverty and injustice;

    C. Provides education designed to effect in those educated active social responsibility toward the promotion of self-determination for the economically deprived.

The Fund for Ministry Committee will consider any proposal that meets one or more of the criteria. However, funding priority will be given to proposals that address one or more of the following:

    1. the needs of women and children in poverty;
    2. the needs of migrants and refugees;
    3. the needs of the homeless;
    4. the efforts of schools to initiate/implement projects and proposals for education to justice in action of their students, teachers, administrators and families.

Guidelines:
1. Proposals may be submitted by:

    a. Network or "Associate Schools";
    b. Groups of RSCJ involved in a common presence or work;
    c. RSCJ engaged in individual or collaborative ministries;
    d. Other groups not directly related to the Society that ask for our collaboration and support; proposals from such groups must have the written endorsement of an RSCJ who understands the program well. Priority will be given to projects which address issues on which the Province has taken a corporate stance.
    (Note: All proposals for projects in which an RSCJ is not involved must have a written endorsement by an RSCJ.)

2. Of the funds available, approximately 60% will be awarded to projects in which there is an active RSCJ presence. For these purposes, active shall mean more than membership on a board. The remainder of the funds will be awarded to projects that have been endorsed by an RSCJ who knows the organization making the proposal.
3. Grants for projects in which there is an active RSCJ presence will not exceed $6,000. Grants to organizations not directly related to the Society will not exceed $3,000.
4. Although, in general, funds will not be granted for capital improvements and equipment, if the proposal can demonstrate that equipment and instructional materials are essential to the carrying out of the program, such grants will be considered.
5. The same project or program can only be funded for a second year.
6. Second year funding will not be considered if a Progress Report is not attached.
7. Financial Information: a complete detailed budget in columnar format for the project must be enclosed. Specify how Fund For Ministry monies will be disbursed in this project.
8. Proposals for programs/projects outside the United States will not be considered.
9. School scholarship programs are not funded.
10. Although, in general, funds will not be granted for major travel, if the proposal can demonstrate that transportation is essential to the carrying out of the program, such grants will be considered.
11. Generally salaries and stipends to RSCJ are not funded. Budgets must indicate title or position of the person to be given a stipend or a salary.
