josephinumNature of the Collaboration

The Sisters of Christian Charity contribute both their living tradition of over 100 years at Josephinum and the use of the school buildings and grounds under a recently completed lease. The Religious of the Sacred Heart provide educational direction for the Josephinum which includes among its board members representatives of both the Sisters of Christian Charity and the Religious of the Sacred Heart as well as other religious and lay members.

Purpose and Activities
Within the evolving tradition of the Church, the mission of Josephinum High School is to educate young inner city women to discover and develop their dignity as children of God; to contribute their unique gifts as women; and to nurture their gifts for cultivating active faith in God; for thinking critically; for building community and solidarity with and among others; for discriminating the roots of injustice; for sharing love, compassion, and service with those in their homes, neighborhoods, cities, and world in meeting the challenges of the 21st century with open minds, compassionate hearts, determined wills.

Nourishing the Spirit

Take time to work, it is the price of success.
Take time to think, it is the source of power.
Take time to play, it is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read, it is the foundation of wisdom...
